The Cuban Theater Digital Archive (CTDA) at the University of Miami is seeking a Programmer. The Programmer, reporting to the CTDA Technical Director, will create an open source content management system for a unique web-accessible digital collection of Cuban theater resources. Will also contribute to the data modeling process and will encode, document, and implement a content management platform according to requirements established by the CTDA Directors. This grant project is funded in part by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and is based at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. CTDA, http://scholar.library.miami.edu/archivoteatral/
Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent, 2 years of experience and 2 years of college with at least 15 credits in Computer Information Systems (CIS). Bachelors degree in Computer Science is preferred. Strong database skills; Demonstrated experience with web/relational database management systems integration, especially in a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment; Demonstrated experience using scripting languages such as PHP, JavaScript, Python, or Ruby on Rails for delivery of web-based content management services; Demonstrated experience with XML/HTML markup and web delivery including XSL or CSS for XML display.
Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are also required.
