[LIBJOBS] Chile - Santiago - Faculty Position at Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile

The School of Engineering invites applications for a full-time academic position, associated to the new program,  “Master of Technological Information Management and Library Science”.

An earned doctorate is required, preferably in Library and Information Science (LIS). Candidates should have demonstrated potential for teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and a record of success in or potential for scholarly research and publication in leading academic journals. Candidates must have the ability to operate in a participative, multidisciplinary environment and a willingness to be a relevant actor of the innovation efforts being developed at our University. Being able to teach in Spanish is desirable in the middle term, but is not an immediate requirement for the application process.

 

The School of Engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile ranks among the top Latin American engineering institutions. Our undergraduate and graduate programs are accredited by the Chilean Commission for Accreditation (CNA), and our undergraduate programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET).The undergraduate program offers admission to 480 students per year, who belong to the top 3% scores of the national higher education admission test taken by high school graduates every year. Currently our full-time academic staff includes 110 professors, 97% of which have obtained their PhD at prestigious universities worldwide. Our professors are highly motivated for seeking innovative ways of teaching, performing state-of-the art research and publishing in archival international journals.

 

The School of Engineering has 9 Departments and 7 Research Centers, and offers Ph.D. degrees in 7 disciplines. The College also has a division for applied research and technology transfer (DICTUC), the largest of its kind in the country.
