Position Title: Document Delivery Officer

 

Job Purpose: Performs the daily operation and management of resource sharing in a rapidly changing and complex environment.

 

Key Result Areas:

Ø  Works collegially with colleagues from document delivery programs throughout the library community

Ø  Provides support for the Library's resource sharing programs

Ø  Helps assesses current document delivery programs

Ø  Contributes to plans for improving productivity and user satisfaction

Ø  Communicates with Library IT to coordinate delivery schedules

Ø  Represents QNL among the library community

Ø  Play a role in new delivery initiatives

Ø  Scan-on-demand journal articles and book chapters and their delivery

Ø  Represents the Library at conferences and resource sharing meetings

Ø  Participate in the assessment of new and existing document delivery services

Ø  Serves on various library committees

Ø  Perform related duties as required

Ø  Participates in local, regional, and international professional activities

Ø  This position includes, but is not limited to, other duties as required and defined by the scope, purpose, and spirit of the institution and are not always indicative of the title and grade of the position.

Ø  Familiarize, understand and implement QF health, safety, and environment policy, procedures, legal regulations and objectives applicable to areas of responsibility. Ensures coordination with HSE department in implementing, monitoring and reviewing of HSE performance to ensure work under his/her control is performed in a safe, healthy and environmentally sound manner.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

Ø  Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in library or information science, preferred

Ø  Three years’ experience in library technical services, preferred

Ø  Previous knowledge of document delivery services is desirable

Ø  Experience dealing with a continually changing environment

Ø  History of meeting service expectations and providing excellent customer service

Ø  Demonstrated ability to use office productivity software (e.g. MSOffice)

Ø  Ability to communicate effectively and work well with colleagues and library patrons from all over the world

Ø  Prioritize, meet deadlines, and to work under pressure

Ø  Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in teams

Ø  Knowledge of Arabic an asset
