SUPPORT ENGINEER

CUSTOMER SUPPORT DEPARTMENT

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, who will provide telephone and email support for Innovative's customers and perform effective technical troubleshooting of Web application issues.  The position is based in the Dublin, Ireland office.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Provide extensive telephone and email support for customers using Innovative software on large multi-user Linux and UNIX systems.

·         Use Linux, UNIX, SQL, and propriety utilities to analyze, troubleshoot, document, and resolve application issues reported by customers.

·         Work with customers with varying levels of technical expertise to effectively pursue and resolve issues in an expedient manner.

 

Requirements:

·         Minimum of three years experience in software support, system administration, or systems librarianship.

·         Knowledge of Web technologies, including Apache, Tomcat, HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript.

·         Previous library experience is preferred. MLS or other relevant degree is a plus.

·         Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly and independently.

·         Ability to balance multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic working environment.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Attention to detail and a demonstrable commitment to following through on issues to resolution.

·         Proven analytical and problem solving skills.

·         Ability to work independently and as a member of the European Support Team and the Customer Support Department.

·         Previous experience working with three or more of the following: Linux/UNIX, web applications, scripting languages, network technologies, relational databases.
