Salary:    $35,118
Required:    Master’s degree from an ALA accredited library program; Demonstrated knowledge of Web design principles; Excellent oral and written communication skills; proficiency with variety of personal computer applications, including word processing and electronic mail; ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with library staff and the university community; strong working knowledge of traditional and electronic library formats.
Preferred:    Advanced degree in a subject field; Spanish language skills; Professional experience in an academic library; experience in evaluating and selecting library materials in both traditional and electronic formats; experience with automated library environment; experience using Drupal; experience using social media in a professional context; Working knowledge of statistical tools for analyzing library collections; knowledge of automated acquisitions systems.

Primary Responsibilities:   
Makes decisions regarding the selection and retention of print and electronic materials, including McNaughton Bestsellers, DVD collection, and Juvenile Collection; plans, coordinates, and manages systematic analysis and weeding of all collections and formats; performs analysis of collection usage; implements review and update of the library’s collection development policies and procedures; communicates with faculty and library staff about library collection issues to ensure necessary input relating to collection needs; assists in developing and maintaining the library’s web page; contributes to the development and publicizing of collections and information in the Library’s on-line system, website, and other resources; serves as liaison between the Public Services Department and the Technical Services Department to facilitate timely and efficient delivery of library resources to users; manages the Library’s gifts and donations; provides reference and information services as assigned at the Information Desk; participates in night and weekend duty as library building manager and reference librarian. Create and maintain Library website.
