ACT is inviting applications for our Manager, Innovation Curation position. This position will manage the innovation pipeline from idea generation through concept development to business concept delivery by means of curation, documentation, and communication with various stakeholders towards ensuring the effective execution of the innovation process and the development of a vivid, trusting and inclusive community of innovation.

Typical work-related activities include:
  • Manage the innovation pipeline from idea generation through concept development to business concept delivery.
  • Ensure consistency, completeness and comprehensiveness of innovation records as well as originators and contributors to idea conception and innovation development.
  • Drive and support the development, implementation and application of innovation categorization and evaluation metrics for prioritization and decision-making.
  • Document status, progress, decision points and decision rationale throughout the life cycle of innovation projects from idea conception to product development.
  • Document innovation input to incremental, strategic and transformational advancements in ACT's products, services, processes, positioning or culture.
  • Communicate continuously and in a timely manner with appropriate stakeholders in the innovation process about status, progress, barriers, requirements etc.
  • Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and upgrading the online innovation management system.
  • In close collaboration with market research staff, collect, compile and identify gaps in market and consumer research information from various sources and associate with appropriate innovation categories.
  • Collect data to answer innovation reference questions.
  • Perform innovation process instruction by training ACT staff to use the innovation management system.
  • Collect, house, and maintain ACT archives of all ACT generated innovations and related intellectual property and product development initiatives.
  • Promote innovation resources.
  • Prepare innovation bibliographies for requested ACT project needs.
  • Utilize and maintain familiarity with a wide variety of electronic resources to answer reference questions, assist ACT staff and keep current in the library and information science profession.
  • Supervise innovation curation support staff as appropriate.
  • This position also encompasses all essential job functions referred to on the general Manager's job description.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree required (Master's degree preferred) and 4 to 7 years of related experience required. Background in information sciences, library sciences or equivalent background required. Experience in intellectual property management appreciated; or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired. Finalist(s) for this position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal background check as a condition of employment.
