Extra-Hire Cataloging Librarian

The Marin County Free Library seeks a Librarian I, part-time, at the Technical Services Unit in Novato for on call, as needed work.

Job Description:

●          Performs original and copy cataloging for monographs, audio-visual materials, local history materials and local government documents.

●          Downloads and edits vendor records for electronic resources.

●          Works with technical services staff to resolve cataloging issues.

Qualifications:

●          At least one year of paid work experience doing copy and original cataloging in a public or similar library.

 

●          Experience using OCLC for copy and original cataloging.

 

� $B!|          Experien ce with MARC formats, DDC and Library of Congress Subject Headings.

 

●          Experience with Innovative Interfaces' Millennium Cataloging Module including record creation, editing, create lists, global & rapid update is highly preferred.

 

●          Ability to work quickl! y and accurately in a high-production environment.

 

●          Ability to work with other staff and to resolve cataloging issues.

 

●          Ability to work in a team environment with other Technical Services staff.
