The Texas Medical Center (TMC) Library is a major research library serving Texas Medical Center researchers, clinicians and students, including two major medical schools, three nursing schools and over 20 member institutions. 
 
Summary:
The Education and Instruction Librarian is expected to design, develop and review curriculum and non-curriculum integrated instruction, evaluate the educational needs of TMC Library users and promote the library's services and resources. The Education and Instruction Librarian will participate in professional and scholarly organizations and activities, pursue personal professional development, and maintain awareness of evolving trends in library and information science. The successful candidate will work with a team of Liaison Librarians to cultivate productive relationships with the Library's affiliated institutions in order to integrate library resources in the curricula, research, and clinical operations of the Texas Medical Center. 
​Duties:
The successful candidate will evaluate current educational needs for the TMC academic institutions, will lead and coordinate focus groups, create and review curricular and non-curricular classes, create online guides, tutorials and other multi-media resources, and develop educational programs and services to meet the needs of students and faculty.

Qualifications:
          Education and experience:

Required:
  • Master's degree in library science (or equivalent) from an ALA-Accredited program
  • Three to five years' experience in medical or academic libraries
  • Teaching experience
Desired:
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver curriculum based instruction in the health sciences
  • Coursework or professional development certificate on instructional design or the education field
