Electronic Resources and Discovery Librarian & Assistant Professor

 

The University of Mississippi Libraries invites applications for the position of Electronic Resources and Discovery Librarian. The position supports the acquisition and discovery of electronic resources within the Continuing Resources Department.

 

Major responsibilities include:

·         Serving as a liaison to vendors regarding trials, acquisitions, favorable pricing, and management of electronic resources

·         Troubleshooting electronic resource access in coordination with other staff

·         Participating in the maintenance of accurate electronic resource data in the library’s ERM, Knowledgebase, and order records

·         Overseeing the analysis of electronic resource use

·         Developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and workflows as needed

·         Serving on related library-wide committees

 

Qualifications:

·         ALA-accredited master’s degree in library or information science by start of position

·         Experience supporting electronic resource lifecycle activities in an academic or research library

·         Experience with electronic resources management tools such as link resolvers, proxy systems, knowledgebases, and ERMs

·         Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, organizational and problem solving skills

·         Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team

·         Interest in facilitating technical skills in others

·         A commitment to meet criteria for promotion and tenure, including published research and professional service

 

The position is a 12-month, tenure-track faculty appointment reporting to the Head of Continuing Resources. Salary will depend on qualifications, experience, and departmental budget.
