CSU Dominguez Hills invites creative and energetic applicants to join the hardworking, dedicated, and enthusiastic University Library faculty in the Reference/Instruction department for TWO (yes, TWO!) positions – Information Literacy and Assessment Coordinator AND Web Technologies Librarian.
 
The successful candidate for Information Literacy and Assessment Coordinator (Position #2659) will provide vision and leadership for the campus’ Information Literacy Program. The Information Literacy and Assessment Coordinator will design, develop, implement, train, and assess information literacy initiatives that promote student success and retention and that align with the strategic goals of the campus.  
 
Partial Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated application of information literacy concepts and trends, pedagogical skills and assessment strategies.
  • Substantial experience in information literacy program development, implementation, training, and assessment.
  • Active involvement in or contribution to the development of the new ACRL Information Literacy Framework.
  • Record of recent published or presented research in the areas of information literacy and/or library assessment methods.
  • Demonstrated experience with emerging or learning technologies such as digital learning objects, LibGuides, online citation management tools.
 
The successful candidate for Web Technologies Librarian (Position #2660) will provide leadership in the development of web-based learning objects that support and enhance student success through the Library's Information Literacy and Instruction program, and will also use social media and other appropriate venues to promote these programs throughout the campus.
 
Partial Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution.
  • Expertise in learning management systems, web authoring and graphic design tools, such as Dreamweaver, Flash, Adobe Photoshop, Camtasia, with the ability to create digital learning objects.
  • Experience creating interactive teaching/learning objects.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging technologies such as web technologies, multimedia applications, social media, and online learning environments.
  • Knowledge of information literacy concepts and trends, pedagogical skills and assessment strategies.
  • Knowledge of technical languages such as SHTML, DHTML, PHP, Java Script, XML, CSS, ASP, MS SQL.
