[LIBJOBS] Doha, Qatar - Information Services Librarian -- Religious Studies

The Qatar National Library seeks candidates for the position of Information Services Librarian -- Religious Studies.

 

As the bilingual (Arabic and English) specialist for Religious Studies, the librarian will deliver research, reference, instructional services and public programs, as well as develop and manage collections. The position will also be responsible to provide a bilingual (Arabic and English) special study room and a curated web portal to Islamic Studies.  Regular evenings and weekends required.

 

Required Skills:

Masters degree in Library or Information Science accredited by the American Library Association or foreign equivalent is required. A Bachelor's level degree in Religious Studies or Islamic Studies preferred.

 

Candidates who submit Master's level library degrees from institutions not accredited by the American Library Association, the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals or the Australia Library and Information Association will be asked to provide an evaluation of the degree from the World Education Services (www.wes.org).

 

Preference will be given to a native Arabic speaker who is able to communicate, write and present fluently in both Arabic and English (IELTS overall score of 6.5).
