The Pennsylvania State University Libraries invite applications for the position of Reference Librarian at the Penn State Beaver campus. The Reference Librarian, as a member of the University Libraries faculty, is responsible for providing reference and instructional services to the Beaver campus community. The Reference Librarian shares responsibility with the Head Librarian for developing collections and services, participates in planning activities, and is expected to be active in a variety of service opportunities (both on campus and within the University Libraries). This is a non-tenure track renewable fixed term faculty position that reports to the Head Librarian at Penn State Beaver. Some evening and weekend work is required.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires MLS degree from an ALA-accredited institution (or equivalent), excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Academic library experience, instructional skills, and demonstrated knowledge of academic and library applications of Web 2.0 technologies are desirable.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Excellent fringe benefits include liberal vacation, excellent insurance and health care coverage, state or TIAA/CREF retirement options, and educational privileges.

The Libraries hold membership in ARL, OCLC, and CRL.
Penn State Beaver has approximately 900 students, with just over 200 students residing on campus. The campus offers 6 bachelor’s degrees, 4 associate degrees, and the first 2 years of over 160 Penn State undergraduate degree programs. Penn State Beaver is located 35 miles northwest of downtown Pittsburgh in the town of Monaca, Pennsylvania.
