ECRI Institute, an independent non-profit organization that researches the best approaches to improving patient care, is seeking an individual to research all facets of new technologies and procedures under research and development in all clinical service areas. This information will underlie profiles that forecast potential impact on health care facilities, utilization, patient outcomes, and healthcare costs.
Requirements include: Master's degree in library and information science plus 3 years relevant work experience. Knowledge of multiple search platforms (OVID, Lexis-Nexis, PubMed, SCOPUS, etc.), controlled vocabularies, and experience searching grey literature essential. Experience with market research techniques, competitive intelligence, and device/pharmaceutical-oriented research desirable. Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Specific responsibilities include:
· Contributing to evolving design and implementation of tracking system for horizon scanning leads
· Assessing yield of existing resources and quality of proposed new resources
· Scanning assigned resources for leads
· Creating and monitoring alerts for assigned topics
· Searching bibliographic and grey literature for assigned topics
· Participating in weekly team meetings
