                                                                  Access Services Librarian

Salisbury University's Blackwell Library seeks a creative, energetic, service oriented Access Services Librarian to provide collaborative advancement in access services operations, including Circulation, print and online eReserves, and Interlibrary loan, with an emphasis on Reserves. The position also includes circulation and reference desk duties.

Primary Job Duties: The primary job responsibility is overseeing and processing print and online reserves. This involves interacting with faculty, staff, system IT personnel, and students. Primary duties also include:
Knowing and applying copyright law as applicable to access services
Working closely with the Head of Circulation and other staff to advance initiatives in the Access Services department
Staffing the Circulation and the Research Help (reference) desk
Participating in University of Maryland System committees related to access services.

Additional Job Duties:
Providing back up service for interlibrary loan (both borrowing and lending)
Working collaboratively with other library faculty and staff in support of the Library's mission
Contributing to the Library's bibliographic instruction program, which may include teaching and developing materials for discipline-specific library sessions
Compiling and analyzing departmental statistics
Participating in scholarship, faculty governance, and serve as a library faculty member.
Completing other professional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: MLS from an ALA-accredited library program; since this is a Librarian 1 position, new graduates are encouraged to apply. Experience working in an academic library. Knowledge of integrated library systems, preferably Aleph; experience with print and eReserves preferred.

Required Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities: This position requires the following:
Knowledge of current trends, best practices, and opportunities in access services with focus on eReserves
Working knowledge of MS Office and web authoring
Strong customer service, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and work with diverse groups of people
Good listening skills, a positive attitude, and a sense of humor
Commitment to team work, and a willingness to embrace change
