Job Description:

 

The American University in Cairo Library seeks a qualified librarian to join its instruction program which includes a required no-credit course for freshmen. Under the direction of the Head of Instruction Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching in and developing content for the required full semester course LALT 101, developing and teaching subject specific classes, assisting with assessment and evaluation for the instructions program, some staff training, serving at the Help Desk (including some evenings hours) and serving as a library liaison for collection development.

 

Requirements:

 

The candidate must have an ALA-accredited MLS, excellent oral and written English, demonstrated experience in instruction (one-on-one and classroom) in an academic library environment, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and experience in course management. The ability to work effectively in a team and independently is also necessary. A second Masters degree, working knowledge of other languages, and experience in a multicultural environment are highly desirable but not mandatory.
