Scholarly Communications and Science Librarian

Just 50 miles north of San Francisco in beautiful Sonoma County, the University Library in the Jean and Charles Schulz Information Center is student-focused library that thrives on innovation and creativity. We are seeking a motivated, collaborative, and future-oriented professional to join our team.

The Scholarly Communications and Science Librarian will provide leadership in the development of a scholarly communications program at Sonoma State University. This new position offers an opportunity to shape the University's approach to scholarly communications and open access, to build our institutional repository, and to help us showcase student and faculty research in new and exciting ways. As Science Librarian, you will also be the liaison to the School of Science & Technology, which includes natural sciences, health sciences, and computer science and engineering. You will work collaboratively with a team of library faculty to create a cohesive and progressive information literacy curriculum, and with science faculty to integrate information literacy into their curricula.

This position requires an ALA-accredited MLS/MLIS/MIS degree (or equivalent, awarded by July 1, 2016), and an academic background in the sciences and/or experience as a science librarian.
