Library Collection Coordinator, Chicago IL
This is a temporary role
​in a law firm library ​
with a projected duration of 9-12 months

The Library Collection Coordinator is responsible for multiple projects which will prepare the Technical Services department to process all US print library materials in the Chicago office. These projects require excellent attention to detail and technical skills, as well as familiarity with the workings of a large law firm library. The selected candidate will also be responsible for assisting in the daily operation of the library's technical services department.
 
Responsibilities:
De-accession withdrawn materials in the EOS catalog, remove holdings from OCLC, and remove the physical items from the collection as needed.
Review and correct bibliographic and authority records in the EOS library catalog, including updating records, deleting records for which we no longer have holdings, and merging duplicate records.
Assist with the library's transition to EBSCO Serials management
Collect a comprehensive list of serials and standing orders in all US libraries
Work with library management to eliminate titles which do not fulfill the Collection Development plan of the Library
Work with EBSCO representatives and library staff to finalize list of EBSCO-managed serials for all US libraries
Assist with the transition to EBSCO-curated serials management
Assist in planning and carrying out the Centralization of print materials for all US libraries, including processes and documentation for :
Cataloging
Checking In
Claiming
Processing
Routing
Shipping
Download and clean MARC records sent by vendors, including Cassidy Cataloging and Overdrive Media.
Plan and manage the shifting of the Chicago print collection.
Assist with serials, routing, copy cataloging, processing and shipping print and electronic resources for all US libraries as needed.
Other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor(s)
 
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Required:
Minimum 5 years of technical services library experience at a medium or large law firm, including serials and/or processing of print materials.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Experience with EOS Integrated Library System
 
Preferred:
Experience with EBSCO or another serial management vendor
Master of Library Science
