HEAD, BUSINESS/SPEA INFORMATION COMMONS

ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE LIBRARIAN

Seeking innovative, service oriented individual for Head, Business/SPEA Information Commons. Responsibilities: develop and manage relationships and explore and maximize partnerships within Kelley School of Business, School of Public and Environmental Affairs, IU Libraries system to facilitate problem solving and patron success and position Libraries for new and sustained viability; learn and understand continually evolving research practices and teaching needs of those in Kelley School of Business and School of Public and Environmental Affairs to better position and promote Business/SPEA Information Commons and its space, services, and collections; develop and deliver innovative online and face-to-face information literacy instruction for Kelley School of Business and School of Public and Environmental Affairs; create instructional content and delivery methods, with particular focus on electronic tutorials and platforms.  Qualifications:  Required: ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS); ability to work in team environment and build working relationships with campus colleagues; excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with diverse population of faculty, students, and academic colleagues; experience in collection development and broad knowledge of information resources for business, public affairs, environmental sciences, or other related social sciences; demonstrated experience in information literacy instruction; demonstrated ability to deliver in-person and online reference services; supervisory experience; ability to meet requirements of tenure-track librarian position. Preferred: 3-5 years’ experience in academic or research library strongly preferred; knowledge of instructional design, pedagogy, assessment principles for effective information literacy instruction.
