Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), a nationally and internationally recognized research and development lab based in Washington State. The library is partnering with its newly formed Library Advisory Committee to design the strategy for the Lab's "library of the future". The person in this position will help lead this effort and the follow-on implementation.

The position provides leadership for the library's Information Services & Research Assistance team, as well as other assignments related to information research and management services. This position requires superior customer service support to internal staff as well as external customers; excellent professional communication skills to deliver solutions in accordance with best practices in information research and analysis; strong skills in relationship and change management and conflict resolution.
 Level 3 Information Specialists requires 5 years of directly related experience in a comparable operating environment, or Master's degree and 3 years direct experience. A Master's degree in Library & Information Sciences is preferred.  Degree and experience equivalence and relevancy will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

This position requires the ability to obtain a federal security clearance in a timely manner.  Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter in accordance 10 CFR 710, Appendix B.  All Security Clearance (L or Q) positions will be considered by the Department of Energy to be Testing Designated Positions which means that they are subject to applicant, random, and for cause drug testing.  In addition, applicants must be able to demonstrate non-use of illegal drugs for the 12 consecutive months preceding completion of the requisite Questionnaire for National Security Positions (QNSP).
