I am currently looking for an experience Linux system engineer specialized on
HP-UX operating systems for one of my client.
This is a full time position located in North Sydney.

Your responsabilities:

1. Performs tasks:
o Able to manage HP-UX Operating Systems on both Itanium and PA-RISC
platforms.
o Able to manage AIX Operating system
- Able to support Virtualisation using HP Integrity Virtual machines.
- Able to support virtualisation: Logical Partitioning, WPAR, PowerVM, VIOS.
- Able to support NIM.
- Able to support Clustering using HP Serviceguard.
- Able to support HACMP for AIX.
- Able to support HP-UX applications including LDAP, Apache, Oracle
(including Oracle RAC), Sendmail, etc.
- Able to support in consolidation and customisation of AIX and HP-UX
environments with various programming and scripting skills including, PHP,
Perl, Python, C, C++.
o Patch management
o Capacity planning and reporting
o Disaster recovery and planning
o Incident and problem resolution
Core / In Depth Technical / Product Experience
- Unix Operating Systems ? AIX on power systems; HP-UX (Both for Itanium
and PA-RISC)
- Deployment of AIX, and HP-UX on medium to enterprise scale
- Virtualisation using PowerVM, VIOS, WPAR, LPAR.
- Virtualisation using HP Serviceguard and HP Integrity VMs.
- Able to support applications, including LDAP, Apache, Oracle (including
Oracle RAC), Sendmail, etc.
- Able to support in consolidation and customisation of AIX and HP-UX
environments with various programming and scripting skills including, PHP,
Perl, Python, C, C++.
- High availability solutions using clustering technologies (HACMP)
Beneficial Technical / Product Experience
- Experience in infrastructure support with large database environment
- CA Enterprise Management suite including Unicenter Service Desk and TNG
- Deployment Products such as NIM, Altiris, HP Ignite
- Client backup and restore (TSM)
- HACMP knowledge is an advantage
- MPE/AMXW knowledge is an advantage
- Experience in ITIL Service Delivery framework.

One or more:

o IBM AIX Certification on System Administration
o IBM AIX HACMP certification ? beneficial
o HP-UX Certified System Engineer (CSE) - beneficial
o High availability solutions using AIX and HP-UX clustering technologies
o HP-UX Virtual Server Environment (VSE) training
o VMWare certification ? desirable but not required
- Other common Wintel products software / appliances
