User Engagement and Student Success Librarian

Salary: $49,966.00 - $94,825.00 Annually

175 work days, Full Time Faculty

Alongside reference functions and instructional assignments, this position:

·         Develops and coordinates library initiatives aimed at improving new and continuing student academic success, which may be in collaboration with other campus academic and student services units.

·         Investigates, recommends, develops and coordinates scalable library programs related to student engagement, academic engagement, and library services orientation for students, with an emphasis on information literacy skill-building for students seeking certificates, degrees, and/or college transfer.

·         Offers workshops, consultations, orientations, online tutorials, and tours in support of student learning, in collaboration with other Librarians and other campus academic and student services units.

·         Expand new and continuing student academic engagement programs aimed at assisting student in learning the tools of scholarship, while adjusting to collegiate academic expectations.

·         Participates in assessment to ensure quality and improve the effectiveness of library services.

·         Shapes new directions for initiatives that support student learning and provide library services where students expect to find them.

·         Works with the college Public Relations Office to effectively reach targeted populations.

·         Seeks out and engages in interactive partnerships with student centered programs (e.g., MESA, ASTC), and academic support programs across campus, especially those supporting traditionally underserved populations (e.g., Umoja, Puente, DSP).

·         Interacts with students in a variety of venues that may include college/program sponsored orientations, open houses, student club/activities events, and campus events

·         Recruits, assists and guides student library workers to increase a student sense of ownership of the library; seeks student feedback in collaboration with other Librarians.
