Librarian (Entry Level Position)
Nagoya University of Commerce and Business ( www.nucba.ac.jp/en/ ) seeks a full time, entry level western trained Librarian.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing library services primarily to our foreign exchange students as well as our non-Japanese speaking faculty.
Other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
· Copyediting of various types of documents written in English
· Provide information from western language sources regarding tertiary education as well as academic libraries at the request of the university administration.
· Perform other library related duties as assigned, such as stack maintenance and weeding of the foreign language collection
Required Qualifications:
· Master's degree in Library Science/Information Science from an American Library Association-accredited program or equivalent
· Native or near-native English language ability
· Familiarity with trends in academic librarianship, especially in the United States and the United Kingdom
· Ability to work as a member of a team in a collegial environment
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications::
· Experience in copyediting / proofreading
