Job Opening:
Hickey College is seeking an adaptable, innovative, gregarious, and passionate librarian to develop and provide information services in support of students, faculty, and staff at its two library branches. Duties include in-person, email, and text reference, technical assistance, copy cataloging, shelving, library instruction, marketing library resources, developing research guides, collection development, budgeting, obtaining copyright permissions, creating quarterly and annual reports, updating the library Facebook page, and updating the library website using WordPress (www.hickeycollegelibrary.com). The librarian travels between the Hickey College/Culinary Institute and the Veterinary Technician Institute on a daily basis. Must be able to work independently and supervise a library aide. Successful completion of a master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited program is required. Applicants who are currently enrolled in an ALA-accredited master’s degree program in library science will be considered, with the understanding that continued employment would be contingent upon successful completion of the degree program. Full-time hours are flexible, but include mainly afternoon hours, as well as evening hours on Mondays and Wednesdays. Will not be required to work weekends, except graduation twice a year.
