San Diego State University Library & Information Access seeks applications and nominations of dynamic, innovative, and service-oriented candidates for the position of Special Collections Librarian. This full-time, tenure track faculty position will provide excellent reference service for Special Collections and University Archives; participate in outreach programs; initiate and conduct course-related information literacy instruction; develop and maintain innovative online research tools; participate in planning, implementing, and assessing collections and services; assist in collection development, as well as donor relations and gifts processing; assist with grant writing. As a faculty member, the Special Collections Librarian will be expected to engage in professional growth activities and participate in the shared governance of SDSU by serving on library, campus-wide, and California State University committees as needed.


This position is open at the Senior Assistant Librarian rank with a yearly salary range of $58,044-$65,000, commensurate with rank, experience, and qualifications. This position will remain open until filled. Reviews will begin immediately. Anticipated start date is Spring Semester 2015.
