[IFLA-LPD] EC Proposes Ratification of Marrakesh Treaty

(you may have seen this newsflash before, in that case: sorry for cross posting)

Dear all,

Just now I have been alerted to an exciting  bit of news out of Brussels .

Let's hope it is speeding up the process in Europe.

This is the news flash:

"We would like to inform you that the European Commission proposed the ratification, on behalf of the European Union, of the Marrakesh Treaty.

The Commission counts on the Council and the European Parliament to authorise the ratification as soon as possible.

On the basis of the Commission's proposal, after obtaining the consent of the European Parliament, it is for the Council to authorise the ratification of the Marrakesh Treaty by the European Union"
