Branch Librarian (Librarian III) Position Vacancy

The Everett Public Library, committed to forging and maintaining strong partnerships with its community, seeks to hire a Branch Manager (Librarian III) for its Evergreen Branch who will contribute to that effort & be an enthusiastic part of its leadership team. This is a key management position within EPL’s structure, and it includes a balance of community representation, supervision of branch staff, and providing service to the public (all ages) in a traditional reference setting and using the best technologies to do so. This position’s responsibilities can also include collection development and the planning and presentation of public programs and classes. EPL seeks a committed, enthusiastic candidate with at least 5 years professional level public library experience including experience leading special projects and/or supervisory experience, as well as considerable experience in an independent work environment.

 

We are looking for someone comfortable with modern and emerging, technologies with the ability to communicate effectively in person, on the telephone, and in writing, whether in dealings with community groups or supervisees or other colleagues. The successful candidate must be willing to work a varied schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and reference desk time at both the Main Library and the Evergreen Branch (with the majority of hours at Evergreen) .
