Job Description:

The American University in Cairo Libraries and Learning Technologies (LLT) seeks an innovative, energetic, and team-oriented automation systems librarian to join our collaborative and service-oriented library staff. 
Working closely with and reporting to the Director for Automation System, this new position will guide the library in its transition to new library automation products and services with reports and recommendations. The Automation Systems librarian will be overseeing the Library's continual improvement of its discovery services and work closely with liaison librarians to make user-focused, incremental improvements in, collections-related web pages, discovery tools, database lists, and all other automated systems related tasks. The Automation Systems librarian will work closely with the web team in website improvements.

Requirements:

 The candidate must have an ALA-accredited MLS, or international equivalent; at least two-three years' successful experience in an academic library preferably with management responsibilities in library automated resources. High level of computer literacy and skilled in current information retrieval technologies and  ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

A second Masters degree, working knowledge of other languages, and experience in a multicultural environment are highly desirable but not mandatory.

Additional Information:
This is a Faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor.
