[LIBJOBS] United States - Reno, Nevada - Instruction and Liaison Librarian (University of Nevada, Reno)

The University of Nevada, Reno seeks a versatile, user-centered librarian to serve as liaison to selected disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. This tenure-track faculty position is part of the Libraries’ liaison program that emphasizes faculty and student outreach, engaging information literacy instruction, intensive research support, and a collaborative, innovative approach to meeting user needs. The incumbent is expected to design and conduct curriculum-integrated instructional sessions, provide in-depth research consultations, provide knowledge about and access to collections and services, collaborate with faculty to meet information literacy objectives, and build sustainable partnerships. The position will participate in and extend the Libraries’ outreach and assessment initiatives; teach general library instruction sessions and workshops, including library instruction for Core Writing classes; and develop effective online instructional materials.

 

Compensation and benefits: Salary range: $60,100-$76,200, DOE. TIAA/CREF and other retirement options; 24 annual vacation days; generous sick leave policy; tuition benefits for self and family; no state income tax or FICA. Required qualifications: Minimum qualifications include an ALA accredited MLS or equivalent and two years of experience in a library reference or instruction setting.

 

Preferred qualifications: Prefer a background and/or familiarity with research issues in the humanities and social sciences; experience planning and delivering innovative services and/or information literacy instruction; familiarity with LibGuides and other tools that support online learning.
