The Princeton University Library seeks an accomplished, service-oriented professional to provide general reference and research services for Princeton students, faculty, and visiting scholars. This position coordinates user services provided by students at the Firestone Library Reference Desk, participates in direct provision of email and chat reference services, offers bibliographic instruction, and leads general orientation sessions. Selects and maintains the Firestone Library Reference Collection. This position also serves as the subject specialist for Gender and Sexuality Studies: selects and manages these collections, provides services including library instruction and research consultations, and is the Library's liaison to the Program in Gender and Sexuality Studies. Works closely with other subject specialists and public services librarians. Represents Princeton in relevant regional, national and international professional and scholarly organizations. The position reports to the Associate University Librarian for Research and Instructional Services. 

The successful candidate will be appointed to an appropriate Librarian rank depending upon qualifications and experience. Required Qualifications: 

·    An ALA-accredited Master's degree in library science. 

·    An academic degree that includes coursework in gender and sexuality studies. 

·    Minimum 1 year professional experience relevant to reference or research services in an academic or research library. 

·    Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully and collegially with a diverse group of colleagues, scholars, and students. 

Strongly Preferred:

·    Broad familiarity with academic research in the field of gender and sexuality. 

·    Experience conducting bibliographic instruction or research consultations in an academic setting.

·    Ability to work effectively in a rapidly changing environment .
