BRANCH MANAGER
Kisker Road Branch Library
The St. Charles City – County Library District seeks a dynamic, energetic and innovative full time manager for its Kisker Road Branch location. With a budget of approximately $903,000 and a staff of 13.522 FTE, the Kisker Road Branch, one of four general purpose branch libraries in the District, circulated approximately 460,000 items and had approximately 187,000 customer visits in FY 11.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Kisker Road branch manager will be responsible for:
o Oversight of the daily operations of the branch
o Staff development, including training, coaching, and mentoring especially in the areas of customer service, basic computer skills and library resources.
o Customer service issues
o Branch programs
o Collection management
o Budget preparation
o Community liaison
o Facility maintenance
o Direct public service responsibilities in general reference responding to customer inquiries in person, by telephone and by email, using general reference collections and electronic resource products.
o Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all other branch locations and administrative departments and within the community in furtherance of District wide goals.
o Marketing and promotion of library services to the local community
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum requirements include an accredited Masters in Library Science and at least five (5) years progressively responsible public library experience with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in management, including supervisory experience.

o Excellent communication
o Customer service and organizational skills
o Effective promotion of library services to the community
o Collaborative and consensus-building skills
o Experience in providing sound fiscal planning and management;
o Knowledge of current trends and best practices for library service
o Advanced course work (MPA, MBA, etc.) is also desirable
SCHEDULE: Days, evenings and weekends.
SALARY: Excellent benefits and salary: General Purpose Branch Manager $57,660.00 to $70,152.00 for MLS; and $64,860 to $78,912.00 for second masters.
