Our goal is for our employees to reflect the rich mix of backgrounds, life experiences, cultures, perspectives, and world views that is found within our university community. | Duties and Responsibilities: | Serves as liaison librarian to the undergraduate and graduate Psychology programs. Develops collegial and collaborative partnerships with the psychology faculty and the library staff to provide excellent reference, consultation, and other support services in a Learning Commons environment. Envisions and develops innovative approaches to instruction, information literacy, collection building, information service, outreach, and assessment. Develops a sophisticated understanding of psychology research methods and information resources. Develops subject guides, web pages, and other creative materials to support instruction. Participates in service and scholarship. Position reports to the Assistant Director of Public Services in Carrier Library. | Qualifications: | MLS from an ALA-accredited institution. Demonstrated commitment to student success and to collaborative ventures with discipline faculty and library staff. At least two to three years of experience in public services, reference, and instruction is preferred. Strong knowledge of traditional and electronic reference sources. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong understanding of psychology collection development practices, resources, and trends. Ability to manage a variety of projects and shifting priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment. A Master's Degree in psychology or recent successful experience in psychology librarianship is preferred. Salary commensurate with experience. Tenure-track faculty position with excellent benefits including 20 days of vacation and a choice of TIAA/CREF or other retirement plans.
