[LIBJOBS] USA - Union, SC - Marketing and Outreach Librarian

The Union County Carnegie Library opened in 1905 as the first Carnegie library in South Carolina and represents an important part of both South Carolina's and Union County's history. Located in a rural county, it serves a diverse population of approximately 28,000, with many barriers to access that require creative solutions.

To better serve its community, the Union Library is in the process of evaluating services and determining strategic priorities to improve and expand its impact. The Library will be breaking ground on its second facility renovation and expansion since opening more than a century ago, and it is now in the final, crucial stages of planning for that project. The Union Library is also pursuing a wide range of grants and partnerships to diversify services and resources. In order to ensure the Library is successful in its efforts to provide innovative solutions to Union County's information access barriers, a new Marketing and Outreach Librarian position has been created, and this new position will play a key role in helping create a joyful, welcoming, community-focused Library with space for learning and collaborating.

This is a salaried, non-exempt position (37.5 hrs/wk) with a starting pay range of $38,000 - $42,000. Union County Carnegie Library provides health benefits, paid leave, and retirement to all full time regular employees. Additional benefits, such as a relocation stipend, may be available.

Applications are available at Interested applicants must submit a resume, cover letter, 3 references, a sample flyer or promotional item, and a Union County Carnegie Library Employment Application to Position is open until filled. (Posted 11/30/2016)
