[LIBJOBS] Undergraduate and Information Services Librarian, Toledo, Ohio, USA

The University of Toledo Libraries (Toledo, Ohio) invites applications for an Undergraduate & Information Services Librarian. 

 

This position will help establish a new tiered reference model at Carlson Library.  This person will oversee the Information Services Desk, promoting student success through teaching information literacy skills and knowledge of the collections.  The primary responsibility of this position is the direct supervision of student workers who will be the first line of reference service for the library.  This person must be able to train student workers to be service oriented peer mentors for their fellow students, developing the skills to be able to coach their peers through the research process.  The coordinator must be able to foster both autonomy and collaborative skills among his/her student workers to be able to help most patrons and refer patrons to others when appropriate.

 

Required: ALA accredited MLS. Working knowledge of current trends in information and reference services and academic librarianship. Strong commitment to customer service. 

 

Preferred: Experience supervising and training students.  Experience staffing a reference desk. 

 

Position Type & Salary: Lecturer, 12 month, full-time, AAUP non-tenure track faculty. $55,000.
