Catalog/Index Librarian Vacancy ­ 2015

 

The Library and Information Services Department of the Maryland Department of Legislative Services is looking for a catalog/index librarian.  The library maintains a public policy and government documents collection of 105,000 volumes and provides reference and research services in a customer oriented environment.  Primary responsibilities include original cataloging of state government documents in various formats; copy cataloging using OCLC; converting print documents into electronic formats; indexing proposed legislation; fulfilling interlibrary loan requests; and maintaining authority files.  Requirements:  MLS degree; knowledge of and experience using OCLC, AACR2, LCSH, MARC formats; and work with integrated library systems, preferably Sirsi.
