Join the library leadership team at this new academic research university in Kazakhstan. The four-year old university has outstanding global partners, such as Cambridge University, Wisconsin-Madison University, Duke University, and the University of Singapore. Undergraduate, Masters, and Doctoral programs are offered. Innovative research centers are active in areas such as Energy and Life Sciences. Approximately 35 members of the library staff serve the information needs of the Nazarbayev University community.

This is a senior level library administrator position in an emerging western-style academic research library. The position is to be filled immediately.

Minimum Requirements:  

• Master of Library Science (MLS, MLIS) or equivalent from an ALA-accredited or equivalent (CILIP) western university graduate program;

• Three years of progressively responsible library management experience;

• Experience with staff management responsibilities;

• Experience with staff professional development responsibilities;

• Excellent written and verbal English-language communication skills;

• Proven ability to succeed in a cross-cultural environment;

• A record of scholarly achievement, including publications;

• Analytical and Presentation skills;

• Knowledge of new and emerging library technologies;

Preferred Requirements:

• International work experience;

• Academic Library work experience;

• Research Library work experience.

Language skills in Russian or Kazakh are useful, but not required.
