Medical Information Services Librarian

Assistant University Librarian

 

The Borland Health Sciences Library at Jacksonville seeks a creative, energetic, service-oriented tenure track librarian to provide reference and information support to faculty, students, UF staff and other health professionals. The Medical Information Services Librarian provides support through database searching and information resource training. This librarian provides reference and information services both in the library and beyond to the clinical faculty, staff and students of the University of Florida and Shands-Jacksonville. Another area of responsibility is oversight of circulation and interlibrary loan for the branch.

 

The library encourages staff participation in reaching management decisions and consequently the librarian will serve on various committees and teams. To support all students and faculty and foster excellence in a diverse and global society, the librarian will be expected to include individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences, races, ethnicities, genders, and perspectives in work activities. The incumbent will pursue professional development opportunities, including research, publication, and professional service activities, to meet library-wide criteria for tenure and promotion.

 

The Borland Health Sciences Library at Jacksonville is a branch library of the Health Sciences Center Libraries of the University of Florida’s George A.
