[LIBJOBS] United States - Richmond, Kentucky - Dean of Libraries

Eastern Kentucky University is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and forward-thinking Dean of Libraries to lead a multi-branched, service-oriented library system. EKU is a comprehensive university serving over 16,000 students on its main campus in Richmond and three regional campuses in Corbin, Danville, and Manchester, Kentucky.  EKU Libraries consist of the Main Library and three branches:  Music, Justice & Safety, and the Business Library and Academic Commons located across the Richmond campus.  The Dean of Libraries will be responsible for the planning, budgeting, implementation, and assessment of all EKU Libraries' services, collections, personnel, and facilities.  Along with the Dean of University Programs, the Dean of Libraries also serves as an advisor for the Noel Studio for Academic Creativity, which is housed in the Main Library.  Under the leadership of the Dean, 70 library faculty and staff serve over 160 degree programs offered in traditional and online formats.  The 250-member Friends of EKU Libraries provide important external support to the Libraries' mission. Qualifications include:  Master's degree from an ALA-accredited program required; minimum of five years of progressive, substantive and successful experience in library supervision or administration required; demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of constituencies; demonstrated ability to provide strong and supportive leadership for the University Libraries faculty and staff in pedagogy, research, and scholarship; demonstrated experience in advocacy for academic libraries consistent with the mission of EKU; innovative and effective responses to the challenges facing academic libraries; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; knowledge of information and scholarly technologies; experience in promoting innovation through advancement and grant-funding opportunities; appreciation of diversity and ability to work effectively within an inclusive campus community; experience with shared reporting.
