LIBRARY ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES OFFICER

California State University, Los Angeles, invites applications for the above Administrator II position.

The University:  California State University, Los Angeles, one of 23 campuses of the California State University system, was founded in 1947.  The University is located at the eastern edge of the city of Los Angeles and adjacent to the western San Gabriel Valley, with more than 19,000 students reflecting the rich ethnic diversity of the area.

The Position:  Under the direction of the University Librarian, the incumbent serves as a primary liaison and representative of the Library ' s  Fiscal and Personnel Services. Duties include but are not limited to: develops and implements policies and procedures to govern and ensure the financial integrity of all financial resources, plans and management reports, coordinates the accounts payable and receivable functions; prepares documents and responses for the Library 's  external financial audits, including FISMA and GAAP audits; coordinates the recruitment, hiring and processing of staff and students for the Library to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and requirements; coordinates performance evaluations and the grievance process for the Library 's  staff and student employees; provides support to the University Librarian for reports and presentations; and has an active role on the Library administrative team. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience: A bachelor ' s  degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or closely related field from an accredited college or university.  Incumbent must demonstrate significant and successful management and administrative experience; possess leadership ability; demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and have a demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. Fingerprinting will be taken and checked by the California Department of Justice and FBI.

Desired Qualification: A master 's  degree in Business or Public Administration from an accredited college or university. Demonstrated experience working with an Integrated Library System (ILS).

Compensation:  Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.  A comprehensive benefits package is provided.

Appointment:  The Administrator II appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University.  All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.

Special Desired Qualifications: Ability to interface and communicate effectively with a diverse community. Ability to work independently and make critical decisions with limited supervision.
