Georgetown University Library seeks a Digital Services Librarian to participate in the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of the Georgetown University Library’s core digital initiatives. This position will focus on the Library’s website, its Digital Georgetown repository, and other digital projects. The incumbent will work collaboratively with library staff administrators and others to design, develop, deploy, and provide ongoing maintenance for the Library’s digital publishing initiatives, digital collections and their technology platforms.

Requirements: Master’s in Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution. Minimum of three years experience with digital collections, metadata standards such as Dublin Core, METS, MODS and PREMIS and organizational websites; minimum of two years experience with XHTML, HTML, CSS, XML and/or XSL; practical understanding of the application development life cycle and some knowledge of Unix shells, MySQL, Java, Javascript, and/or PHP. Demonstrated knowledge of digital library standards, technologies and techniques required.  Demonstrated knowledge of current advances in information systems and technologies and their applications in libraries, education and research required. Experience with open source repositories such as DSpace or Drupal highly desirable. Working knowledge of Google analytic data tools to assess impact of library website design enhancements and changes preferred. Commitment to the use and promotion of alternative as well as traditional means of access to information.  Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work effectively with a team.  Ability to be flexible with changing responsibilities and duties as new and additional needs become known.  Record of participation in and/or contribution to library professional organizations.

Salary/Benefits/Rank:  Salary commensurate with experience.  Comprehensive benefits package including 21 days/year paid leave; medical; TIAA/CREF; tuition assistance. This is a 12-month, Academic/Administrative Professional (AAP) appointment.
