Requirements:
· M.L.S., for professional level position.
· Excellent communications, organizational, and inter-personal skills.
· Strong computer skills and interest in emerging technologies.
· Detail-oriented approach to project planning and execution.
· Ability to work independently and follow through with work plans without close supervision.
· Ability to identify problems with processes or materials and offer creative solutions.
· Solid research skills to identify new areas for content development and new content for existing collections.
Preferred qualifications:
· One year full-time or equivalent library, digital library, or archives experience.
· Project management experience.
· Familiarity with digitization standards, database applications, and web design.
Primary responsibilities:
· Design and execute digitizing projects. May include, but is not limited to, scanning to standards, quality control for images and metadata, data entry.
· Master scanning and image processing software and hardware.
· Accurately assess a document collection and perform additional research when needed to enhance the description and access to the collection.
· Contribute to continual assessment of the FRASER website and offer suggestions for improving usability and content.
· Compile, input and format data on collection material and collection activities.
· Perform data entry with a high degree of accuracy and detail.
· Work with a cross-section of Bank staff and staff at partner institutions pleasantly and professionally.
· Assist with organization and storage of Bank archival materials. Some preservation activities may be involved.
· Perform other duties incidental to general library activities.
Job Summary:
Member of small special library team that provides excellent customer service to the Bank, Research Department, and Library partners. Will contribute to a growing body of publicly available source materials on the history of the Federal Reserve System, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis and the American economy.
