Job Posting, Henderson Libraries, Henderson, NV: Digital and Metadata Services Librarian

 

Qualifications:  Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited college or university required.  Knowledge of metadata and archival encoding standards, including but not limited to EAD, MARC, XML, and Dublin Core. Familiarity with copyright issues, digital rights, digital preservation and technical metadata. Background in developing digital initiatives such as archival projects or database–backed dynamic websites, knowledge of current Web technologies for digital content delivery. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Create, edit, and maintain digital archives and metadata; manage the physical archives, including photographs, negatives, and print publications.  Serve as the Library District’s liaison to community organizations in order to identify and provide access to historical material through the library’s digital collections.
