Tenure Track Position for Outreach Librarian

 

Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 9,000 students in graduate and undergraduate programs. The University is located in the borough of Kutztown in a charming rural setting, and is within 20 minutes driving time of the diverse metropolitan areas Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and within 60 minutes of the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The Rohrbach Library at Kutztown University invites applications for a tenure-track Outreach Librarian (a full-time, nine-month faculty position) starting Fall 2016.  The Outreach Librarian will coordinate the library's outreach efforts, library programming, and the Rohrbach Library's web presence.  The Outreach Librarian will also provide information literacy instruction, participate in the liaison program, and provide research support services to faculty and students.  Requirements: ALA-accredited MLS; three years of library experience; demonstrated effective presentation skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, students, faculty, staff and general library users; ability to communicate effectively in multiple formats to diverse audiences; proven ability to balance multiple projects and set priorities; web development skills. Preferred: Previous academic library experience; previous outreach or public relations experience; familiarity with graphic design and graphic design software.  A successful interview and an information literacy instruction lesson on a topic to be determined by the search committee required.
