[LIBJOBS] USA / Chicago / Reference and Instruction Librarian at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago


The John M. Flaxman Library of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago seeks a REFERENCE & INSTRUCTION LIBRARIAN to assist in the design, delivery, and evaluation of front-line library services to the campus. Support library visitors in using digital, print and media resources. Participate in and promote library programs through collaborations with staff and faculty throughout the organization. Other duties as assigned, including some access services.

Requires: MLIS or similar degree; background in the arts; experience working in a library or similar institution; commitment to the School's educational mission. Demonstrated knowledge of current issues, practices, and assessment measures. Proficiency using reference resources, discovery/delivery systems, social media, standard office software and networks. Effective working within a team or independently. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
