The Value Specialist utilizes evidence-based practice and quality improvement (QI) for promoting optimal patient care with the ultimate goal of enhanced clinical outcomes. This role establishes the timeline and processes for implementation of evidence-based guidelines, resolving barriers to implementation using process maps, Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA), and other Lean Six Sigma tools. This position facilitates the selection of

structure, process and patient-centered outcome measures for each Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycle in order to evaluate the impact of programs. This role establishes the process for data collection and identifies  resources needed for data collection and analysis, analyzes data using statistical software packages, prepares data summaries on the effectiveness of guideline implementation, creates dashboards, presents outcome and cost data to clinicians, establishes plans for continuous improvement, and aids clinicians in evaluating workflow processes. The Value Specialist provides consultative services on developing abstracts and publications, and leads workshops and courses for clinicians and students on QI strategies

 

Requirements: Master's degree (e.g., MS, MPH, MLIS, MHA, MBA) from an accredited college/university and three years of progressive related work experience preferably in a healthcare setting or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in Hospital/Health Administration, Business Administration, Planning, Statistics, Health Information Management, Health Informatics or other related field and five years of progressive related work experience preferably in a healthcare setting.
