[LIBJOBS] United States - Hamilton, NY - Information Literacy Librarian

The Colgate University Libraries seek a highly productive, innovative and user-oriented Information Literacy Librarian to advance the Libraries' educational mission by providing leadership in the design, implementation and promotion of the Libraries' information literacy curriculum.  Reporting to the Head of User Services, and working closely with colleagues in the Research and Instruction Department, the successful candidate will coordinate a team of instruction librarians to achieve a multi-faceted instruction program as well as actively participate in research assistance and classroom instruction. The Information Literacy Librarian is directly responsible for the foundational portion of the information literacy curriculum, which focuses upon first and second year students and supporting their transition between high school and college. Another area of special attention includes the Major-Specific portion of the information literacy curriculum, which will be developed in cooperation with the university's academic departments and programs. 

Required: 
▫   ALA-accredited master's degree or equivalent
▫   Knowledge of national standards and guidelines for information literacy instruction
▫   The ability to lead and work in a collaborative and cooperative environment
▫   A demonstrated enthusiasm for teaching
▫   A commitment to developing information literacy in the undergraduate curriculum
▫   Demonstrated effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
▫   Commitment to providing responsive and innovative services to a culturally and racially diverse campus
▫   Ability to work a schedule which includes some evening, weekend, and holiday hours

Preferred:
▫   Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a library or other setting
▫   Reference and instruction experience in an academic library

Desired:
▫   Knowledge of instructional design theory, principles and techniques
▫   Familiarity and experience with program assessment
▫   Ability to analyze data and make local decisions based on national and local trends that 

enhance services while maximizing university resources
▫   A keen interest in emerging trends in pedagogy, technology, and scholarly content creation
