[LIBJOBS] Job Posting -- Associate Director, Visual Resources Center, University of Chicago

The Visual Resources Center at the University of Chicago seeks a knowledgeable, energetic individual committed to user-centered services to perform the following duties as Associate Director: Provide leadership for all aspects of visual resources production and imaging project management. Work closely with faculty to integrate digital images and relevant technologies into the research and pedagogical activities of the Art History Department and the Humanities Division. Collaborate with library, computing services, and other relevant staff to develop cooperative solutions for digital image collection development, management, and preservation and to provide scholarly access to visual resources collections for faculty and students. Develop and implement strategies, environments, policies, and procedures for the collection, dissemination, and preservation of visual resources in support of humanities research and teaching. Monitor and execute budgetary functions, oversee the maintenance of all digital imaging technology, and supervise permanent and temporary cataloging and image production staff. Engage in professional activities to maintain fluency in current digital library practices.
