[LIBJOBS] Part Time Library Technician position (Hawthorne, CA)

Overview

Casa Loma College, School of Nursing and Allied Health, seeks a Library Technician for its Hawthorne Campus. He or she shall perform daily library operations, assist in the usage of library resources and library equipment, and provide basic technical support. The Library Technician will also assist in maintaining statistics reflecting library activities, preparing and submitting reports, and performing collection management and cataloging, as needed. This is a 24 hour per week position.

 

The Library Technician must:

·         Demonstrate professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation

·         Be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously

·         Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

·         Interface effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization

·         Be knowledgeable in modern office methods, procedures, practices, and equipment, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

·         Properly use English grammar, spelling and vocabulary.

 

Experience

One to two years of experience working in a library (academic library preferred), including customer service.

Experience providing basic technical hardware and software assistance (preferred)

 

Educational Requirements

A.A. in Library Technology, or equivalent
