Circulation Manager Librarian

Full-Time Position

Rawlins, Wyoming

 

The Carbon County Library System is looking for a creative, energetic, detail loving Circulation librarian with at least two years management experience.  Must be able to communicate well both orally and in writing with patrons and library staff.  Position resides at the Rawlins Library.

 

The 40 hours/week position must be knowledgeable in library circulation techniques and be able to navigate through the library’s circulation software in order to find materials for patrons; and must be able to access the various features of the software, such as fines, inventory, inner library loans, daily reports and patron lists.  This position also requires an ability to troubleshoot computer and hand held media device issues.  This position oversees the scheduling and work of the Rawlins part-time circulation staff of five and aids the part-time branch manager’s with circulation information at all seven locations.

 

Carbon County is along the I-80 corridor in south central Wyoming.  Rawlins is the county seat with 10,000 residents.  Carbon County is home to the Medicine Bow National Forest, Saratoga Hot Springs, and countless historical sites.  If you don’t like wide-open spaces and small rural towns, this job is not for you.

 

A master’s degree in an ALA accredited MLS/MLIS is required.  Previous library management and a solid understanding of library theory is preferred.
