Director of Academic Sales, North America

We are currently seeking a dynamic individual who can create sales strategies for increasing opportunities, wins, and revenue within the North American Academic Library market. This position reports directly to the VP of North American Sales.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a sales strategy for increasing opportunities, wins and revenue within the North American Academic Library market;
  • Calling on and building relationships with Academic Libraries nationally;
  • Delivering sales presentations to clients and prospects and influencing decision makers at all levels of the organization;
  • Maintaining current, accurate data in the CRM application;
  • Frequent and regular reporting to VP Sales, North America;
  • Arranging regular meetings and presentations to Academic Library management staff to fulfill sales strategy and goals;
  • Contributing to the development of sales materials, including pitch books, fact sheets and web content.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience in enterprise-level software sales;
  • Strong desire and ability to identify prospects, generate a qualified pipeline, cultivate and manage sales opportunities, and close sales;
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and building strong customer relationships in the academic library services market;
  • A strong client service orientation with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities is a must;
  • Intelligent, motivated, competitive, strong communication skills, strong closing skills;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities;
  • Employ creative approaches to succeed and problem-solve;
  • BA/BS degree required
  • MLS/MLIS preferred
  • Ability to travel extensively.

Salary / Benefits:

  • Salary commensurate with experience
