DUTIES:

The duty location will be determined after selection has been made; however duty location will be within the New England Area, within VISN 1. 

The employee will serve as the Online Resource Coordinator (ORC) and Knowledge Services Librarian for the Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) One. The ORC manages all aspects of the acquisition and contracting processes for the VISN wide online knowledge resources: eJournals, eBooks, Databases, the Online Public Access Catalog, and other online tools and resources. The ORC is a member of the VISN One librarian team and works closely with VISN One librarians to collaboratively set collection policies, survey users, collect and analyze usage data, plan purchases, and implement the purchased content on the VISN1.knowlegelibrary web pages. The ORC works closely with the VISN One Library Coordinator (VOLC) and with the VISN One Library Technician (VOLT) to implement eResources on VISN One webpages and portals. The ORC collaborates with the VISN librarians to continuously design, improve, and promote the library resource web page across the VISN One user population. Additionally, the ORC works with the VOLT and the VOLC to initiate and plan e-projects and new technologies such as mobile applications research, testing, implementation, and promotion of services.  

The ORC works with the VISN One librarians as part of its team approach to client service by participating in: Librarians on Call (reference services); collection development and planning; client services and user training work at local facilities (including Out Patient Clinics); librarianship/knowledge management projects with staff of local facilities and other user staff development projects.  And will provide data analysis, usage assessments, training data and technical issues when collaborating on the planning and preparation of the VISN One eResources budget.

Work Schedule: Monay - Friday - 8AM - 4:30 PM
